Devotional: End Game

Scripture Focus:

📖 Philippians 3:13–14 – “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal…”

📖 Proverbs 16:3 – “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

📖 2 Timothy 4:7 – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

🎮 What’s Your End Game?

Whether it’s a video game, a sport, or a school project, we all know the feeling of wanting to finish strong. You don’t start something just to give up halfway—you want to win. That’s exactly how the apostle Paul lived. He wasn’t chasing temporary success or popularity. His endgame was clear: to know Christ and fulfill his purpose.

Even through beatings, shipwrecks, and prison, Paul didn’t quit. Why? Because he had a goal bigger than comfort—he was chasing something eternal.

🧠 How to Live with an Endgame Mentality

Here are three essentials to help you stay focused and faithful:

  1. Don’t let discomfort stop you.   Faith isn’t always easy. You might feel awkward praying in public or standing up for what’s right. Push through the discomfort—it’s worth it.

  2. Don’t let distractions pull you away.   Social media, drama, and comparison can blur your focus. Stay locked in on what matters most.

  3. Don’t quit when it gets hard.   When life feels heavy, lean into God—not away from Him. He’s your strength when you feel weak.

⏳ This Moment Matters

You don’t get this time back. Whether it’s the start of the school year or the middle of a tough season, you can choose to finish strong. Change the story of your year. Make it count.

🎯 Set Goals That Actually Move You Forward

Saying “I want to get closer to God” is a great start—but what does that look like in real life?

  • Start a Bible reading plan.

  • Pray for 5 minutes each morning.

  • Invite a friend to youth group.

  • Serve someone in need this week.

Small steps lead to big impact. Define your goals and take action.

🙏 Prayer

God, help me live with purpose. Give me strength when it’s hard, focus when I’m distracted, and courage when I feel uncomfortable. I want to finish strong and bring others with me. Amen.
